I already made Tanner that BYU shirt, but I couldn't resist making these Cougar sweats as well. Cassie, you should recognize them! Cassie(my best friend) and I got these when we were in college and I replicated them in toddler size. Once again the sweats are Geranimals for like $2.50 or something ridiculously cheap. Can't beat that!

Glass Etching
Lately I've been doing a little glass etching. It's actually super easy. Check out how here. I labeled our casserole dishes with our name...
and monogrammed this bowl...
I also made the brown balls. You can see how to make them here. Just a few little things I've been up to lately. Try them out!

Sorry I've been M-I-A because of M-I-C-E! We've had some mice issues at our place this week and it's been a bit of a stress to say the least. I've dealt with ants, cockroaches, millipedes, etc. but mice take the cake. Anyway after setting a MILLION traps and catching NOTHING we're hoping my freaking out scared them out of the house. Ha! We've also had colds and sinus infections, and this has just been one of those weeks I'd rather not repeat. So here's hoping that next week will be better!

Family Photos '09
So today we decided to head out in the backyard with our camera and tripod and take a few family pictures. We took family pictures last year about this time so we figured it was time to take pictures again. Here's a couple we've played with already. I'm pretty pleased with what we pulled off. Dean and I have been working on our photo editing skills. I'll post more as we edit, etc. And I still plan on taking some individual shots of Tanner, but you can only get so much out of a one year old in one day. It took a LOT of bribing and a little more sugar than I would normally allow. ;) Anyway, here's a sneak peak at the first few...

Weekend Treasures
So we live just up the street from the local Salvation Army. It's become my new addiction. It's so fun to peruse the aisles looking for a steal. Plus it's a super cheap way to clothe Tanner - cause lets face it, kids grow out of clothes and shoes before they're worn out. We've gotten some screaming deals on shoes for him there. Always a plus! And I love looking at other people's trash to figure out how with a little TLC/crafty creativity it could become my treasure! Because everything's pretty cheap Dean usually appeases my little obsession. And he tends to find random stuff for his physics projects too, so it's a win-win. This weekend I got these few things...

This is what my week has been like...
Ha! Two minutes after cleaning up the toilet paper we found Tanner with all his diaper wipes spread across the living room! Yesterday I was asked to give a lesson for Relief Society Enrichment on "Finding the Joy in Motherhood." Perfect timing for that one! Haha! Truthfully this kid really does bring all kinds of joy! (With just a few occasional moments of extreme frustration ;))

They pulled through
Did any of you see the BYU game!? We totally pulled it off! Woot woot! Go COUGS! Personally I choose to believe it was all because of the lucky BYU shirt I made for Tanner, but who knows. Ha! We're looking forward to a great season! Rah Rah Rah Rah Rah GOOOOOO COUGARS!

Todays Project
Tanner LOVES to be Mom's little helper so I've been thinking about making him a little apron for a while now. The other day I had the perfect idea to turn this canvas bag into an apron. The bag was free from a conference Dean went to and the fabric for the ties and pocket were just scraps I had around the house so basically this was FREE! Gotta love that! I still need to adjust the neck strap and it's a bit big on him now but I wanted it to grow with him for awhile so that works out fine. I'll have him cooking dinner for us before you know it! ;)

Go COUGARS!
Well last year thanks to Cassie, Tanner had a sweet BYU jersey that he faithfully wore for every football game. Sadly, he's outgrown it now so I went to work and whipped up this...
It was a plain dark blue shirt to start (Geranimals $2.50). I cut the "Y" out of an old shirt of mine and with a little "heat-and-bond" I stuck the two together. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and now we're all ready for the first big game on Saturday! We're super excited for COUGAR FOOTBALL!
