Spring Break

Well it's officially Spring Break around here.  Sadly it hasn't looked at all like Spring outside, and it's mostly just meant that Dean focuses on his school work full-time instead of working all day and then doing school work all night.  But we did see a little sun today AND he managed to take a little time to build a K'nex roller coaster with the boys.

They had fun.  And Dean had a LOT of patience.  Note to self...when the box says, "for ages 9+" it's probably not well suited for 2 and 5 year olds.  Ha!  But they did like the finished product, just not what felt like hours of building to get to that point.

Easter Eggs 2013

Today we had a winter weather advisory and a two hour delay for school this morning.  It snowed all day long and sure didn't feel much like Spring.  But, tonight for FHE we had a nice lesson about the Resurrection and then dyed our Easter eggs.  We tried a new method this year found here.

Landon think's he's pretty hot stuff dying his eggs.

Tanner's so big he didn't require any help this year.

Egg dying action.

I think this is the cutest picture of Braddock.  Such a sweet little smile and he's totally looking right at the camera.

Traditional shot of Dean...don't ask.

The "swirl" affect.
And the boys helped me whip up these little cuties for treat.  They're chocolate dipped vanilla wafers.  They were actually really easy and super festive.

7 Months

This handsome dude is now 7 months old. I feel like this month we've regressed on any progress we've made on the not-being-held-24-hours-a-day front. Ug. He must just REALLY like his Mom, and I guess I can't blame him. She is pretty awesome. ;)

* According to the bathroom scale he's 19lbs. and he's 28inches tall.
* He follows me around the house wherever I go.  But he's so much slower than me he gets very frustrated when I leave his intended destination before he ever arrives.  Ha!  Poor boy.
* He finally is sleeping in his own bed and usually only wakes up twice at night.  Although that may seem like a lot to you it's a big improvement around here.
* He adores Tanner.  He lights up whenever Tanner talks to him.  I'll have to use that to my advantage down the road. ;)
* He also LOVES when Daddy comes home.  He could be perfectly content sitting with Mom, but when Dad arrives he screams until he gets him.  (I think it makes Dean's day!)
*This week he pulled himself to standing at the couch.  Yikes!
* Despite being a difficult baby he sure is cute and we love his cuddles and smiles.

More Easter Crafting

We grabbed some cardstock, a brad, and some washi tape and whipped up these cute little eggs and chicks . . .

We added a little pocket on the back for the chick to fit inside.

Easter Bunnies

The other day we threw together a super simple Easter craft with things we had on hand.  The boys thought they were pretty fun . . .

Love my little Easter Bunnies.

And speaking of Easter Bunnies, Tanner mentioned to Great Grandma Furin on Sunday that next time he went to their house he wanted to make a bunny cake.  Now if you know Tanner he has about a hundred requests like that a day that I usually just ignore.  I can't possibly satisfy them all, but Grandma sure managed to make his day.  He came home with this . . .
And this bunny was not only adorable, it was delicious too!  Thanks Grandma!

Ice Storm and FHE

Monday we had some crazy weather. Things weren't so bad when Dean took off for school in the morning so they didn't cancel or delay, but by mid morning and for most of the day everything was coated in ice . . .

I was grateful we had nowhere to be.  Then for FHE we made sugar cookies for our activity and treat . . .

St. Patrick's Day

Sunday morning we woke up to . . .

Leprechaun footprints all around the house.

Chocolate gold coins.

"Lucky Charms" and green milk.
Dad armed himself with some green glasses and then went around pinching everyone that wasn't wearing green. . .
Braddock was lucky he had that green dino on his pj's. ;)
We had a small issue with Tanner pinching kids in Primary.  Ha!  Then after Church we ate a delicious and festive dinner at Mom and Dad's.  Later that night night we whipped up some mini rainbow fruit pizza's to finish up our celebration. . .

Blueberry stains.

Sneaking extra strawberries.
Then we attempted a family photo.  When I turned the camera around to see how it turned out I was a bit surprised by who messed it up. . .

High Chair and Solid Foods

Saturday we finally pulled out the high chair for this big boy.  He's getting more and more coordinated at feeding himself.  He can get things too his mouth, but letting go and leaving it there is a bit difficult.  Ha!  He's pretty particular about how you feed him too.  He starts screaming really quick if you don't shovel the food in fast enough.  Guess he'll be a speed eater like his daddy.

Our 7th Anniversary

I know, I know. You're all shocked we've already been married for seven years. We look WAY too young for that. ;) But it's true, Saturday was our seventh anniversary. We sure feel lucky to have found each other, and are grateful for all we've experienced and have been blessed with over the past seven years. We started off the morning right with heart shaped french toast, sausage, and strawberries. . .

Tanner spent the day showering us with homemade gifts.  After the first couple I expressed to him how grateful I was for his kindness, but that he didn't have to keep making more gifts if he didn't want.  He quickly said, "Mom, I love you guys SO much I'm gonna make you hundreds and hundreds of gifts for your anniversary.  I'm not gonna stop until the day is done."  Ha.  What a sweet boy.  Then Saturday night we were lucky enough to get out for the evening.  We headed to dinner here . . .

After eating WAY to much we headed to the musical "Me and My Girl" put on by one of the local high schools.  The lead is in our ward and he did an excellent job.

Bonnie, Tyler, Kerry

Still putting up with each other after seven, long, years.  Love ya babe!

Matchy Matchy

This weekend I got the crazy idea that I should attempt to go through every last piece of boys clothing we own to switch out the boys clothes in their closets and toss some stuff. It was a good idea in theory, but add in a super needy 6 month old, a husband who's too busy to help, and it became a bit overwhelming. BUT in the process I located matching outfits that happen to fit the all three boys in our stash. LOVE that.  The weather was gorgeous yesterday so I thought I'd snag a cute picture of them outside after Church. I almost gave up when they were all turning out like this. . .

I laugh so hard every time I look at this.  It so perfectly captures them all.  Tanner's the stress case, Landon's chill and oblivious, and Braddock's just cracking up about the whole thing.

But eventually we got a decent one . . .
Man I adore these three.  I constantly get comments at the store about how crazy it is that I have three boys (usually not in a positive way), but I wouldn't have it any other way. ;)
