Shooting at Brett's

Brett Hill invited us over for a Saturday morning shooting session.  We've shot there before, but Braddock and Bridger never have.  He pulled out his 22's and they all got to work hitting those targets.  Everyone had a turn before we had a visitor show up.  The local police dropped by to say they had complaints from the neighbors that bullets were zinging past their heads.  There's no possible way that's true, they were just 22's and we were hitting a backstop of earth behind the targets, not to mention the mile or more of woods they would have to go through to reach the nearest neighbor, but it put an abrupt end to our shooting session.  Brett felt awful, but we all got at turn and had fun anyway.  He is such a good friend and we were grateful for his hospitality.

Brett was sweet and sent us all home with drinks.  Bridger sucked his lip into his gatorade until it was black and blue.  This picture cracks me up.....it looks like a mug-shot.  Hahaha!

Musical Number

Well they did it!  These goobers finally got their acts together enough to perform in Sacrament Meeting...

Johnny - Cooper - Tanner

Way back in May Krsten Neeley asked these boys if they'd do a musical number together.  Tanner accompanied on the piano and Johnathan and Coops sang.  They chose the song "This is How I Know" and after months of hit and miss practicing it all came together beautifully.  We could feel their testimonies as they performed and we couldn't be prouder of them.  I hope it's an experience they don't ever forget.

Picklesburg

Cassie came to town for one night to hang out with Lisa and I before leaving bright and early Saturday morning to pick up her kiddos at EFY in Kirtland.  We decided to brave the city and see what "Picklesburg" was all about.  They closed down a bridge and filled it with vendors and everything, and I mean everything, was pickled!  Even pickle fudge!  We tasted a few pickled things and perused the booths.  People watching was on point and it was just fun being in the city atmosphere.  We headed home when the crowds were getting looser and enjoyed the evening chatting and catching up at Lisa's.  I got home about 1am and that's when the splitting headache and puking set in.  Not sure Picklesburg agreed with me, but glad I got to spend the evening with these ladies!

Landon's Party

Clear back in May at Landon's birthday time he was asking if he could have friends over for a little party.  May was NUTS with us getting Covid, putting on 4th Grade Send-off and Indy Day, and all the other things that come with the end of the school year.  There was just no way we could pull off a party too, so we promised him once summer hit we'd work something out.  Well by July we finally got our acts together and got the invitations out.  It worked out nice because we had the pool up by then, so everyone came over for a fire and swimming.  Almost everyone he invited was able to make it, and they ended up having a ton of fun together.  Thanks to my YW's water-party getting rained out earlier that week, we had all the supplies for water-balloon battleship.  It was harder to get everyone out than I expected, but they really got into it and kept at it.  I'm grateful for good friends and the chance to celebrate Landon a little.  He's such a good kid and brings so much joy to our family.  Hope you enjoyed your night pal!

A Trip to Central PA

As a last hurrah for Kaitlyn before she leaves for BYU, Jared's family had planned a trip to star-gaze in Cherry Springs State Park.  They had invited us to tag along, but with everything else going on we thought it might work best just to send Tanner with them.  They were gracious enough to take him along and he had a blast.  They got lucky and the clouds cleared for them to see some pretty incredible stars and he had so much fun hanging out with them for the day.  They even introduced him to Burger King complete with crowns. (Yes, that was his first time ever!).  We sure are grateful for such awesome family and we're excited for Kaitlyn and her next big adventure in Provo.  She's going to rock BYU!

Jared and Dianne's Visit

For the next week we partied hard, swimming, playing games, zip-lining, swinging on Grandpa's swing, eating, doing the fishpond, watching movies, making campfires, and having so much fun together.  It was fun hosting people over at our place a couple times.  The pool definitely came in handy and we loved eating woof-ums and s'mores over the fire.  We had some rainy patches throughout the week, but we made the most of the sunshine when it came around.  And we're grateful Grandma and PapPap made an appearance a few times too.
