Pumpkin Carving 2023

Between Marching Band, Soccer, Stake RS, and Stake Conference, October was an incredibly busy month.  We managed to squeeze pumpkin carving in last minute before Halloween arrived.  The boys took a simpler approach this year, but Tanner still managed to fill his pumpkin with a chemical concoction that made the facial features he had cut but not removed, shoot out of his pumpkin. And Braddock found a pumpkin in the road (he picks up all sorts of things that way!) and decided to make his big pumpkin a jail cell for his tiny one. Clever! Bridger’s is an astronaut and Landon’s is a grumpy gourd. We topped off the evening with carmel popcorn and “The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.” Love Halloweening with this crew!
Mom and Dad Nelson were awesome and had the boys over earlier in the month to paint pumpkins.  They all turned out so good and I was impressed by their artistic talent.

The pumpkin seeds were a bust this year.  For some reason the seeds were so bland and dry.  Guess we'll hope for better next year.

Tri-Stake Devotional

As a Stake Relief Society Presidency we were tasked with much of the preparation work to have Sister Dennis of the General Relief Society Presidency come visit.  Earlier in the day she met with all the Relief Society Presidencies from all three stakes and we had a little luncheon afterward.  Then we gathered for pictures together in front of the temple before hearing from her and her husband that evening.  Dean came to run technology and Mom was a big help with Keaton too.  It was an incredible day and I think we all left inspired to work together as sisters to help each other on our journey back to our Heavenly Father.  I'm so very grateful for divinely inspired leadership in the Church who care about our needs and concerns even all the way here in Pennsylvania.

Last Football Game Pink Out

It was the last home football game of the season and we played against Beaver.  They creamed us but we had a lot of fun anyway.  Dean helped in the band concession stand and Tanner rocked the fieldshow.  They boys love running around with their friends but are still cool about hanging with us some of the time too.  Keaton was adorable in his little hat and we really enjoyed the last game together.

Keaton enjoyed his first french fry with plenty more in his future I'm sure!

Fall Soccer

It was an amazing fall soccer season for Bridger.  Dean decided to coach and they had a lot of fun together.  Dean's a natural and did such a great job with those kids.  He acts like it had nothing to do with him, but their team went undefeated and played so well.  We loved coming and supporting them from the sidelines.  Way to go guys!  Can't wait till Spring Soccer comes back around.

Halloween Parties

One of my favorite things as a mom is helping with class parties at school.  I got lucky enough to go to Bridger's class Halloween party and costume parade.  I loved seeing all their costumes and their excitement for the holiday.  I was in charge of a game and we did a relay of carrying eyeballs with skeleton hands from one end of the room to the other.  We also did some crafts, snacks, and art projects and man did these kids come home with a million treats before they even went out trick-or-treating!

Mrs. Sittig is the greatest!  She looked awesome in her Bee costume and had so much patience with all these wired kids!

I love that Bridger was excited for me to come in my matching costume to his.  Leia and Yoda!

A Visit from the Campbells

We got super lucky that Micah and McKay were roadtripping back to Utah from DC and wanted to stop at our place!  They brought Maggie and Scout and they have grown so much already since we saw them this summer.  We had dinner with them and then visited for a while before sending the kiddos to bed.  I made them breakfast the next morning and then they were on their way.  It was a quick visit but SO fun to see them and snuggle those sweet girls.  Having three babies in the house was a party!
They just casually held hands.  😍

Our big crazy crew!  (Missing Micah's 3 oldest kiddos.  They are rockstars for pulling off 5 kids, including twin babies, all while McKay was trained as an FBI Agent!)
Maggie and Scout are the most chill babies I've ever seen.  That is a straight up tender mercy from Heavenly Father because I don't know how Micah would have survived the past 5 months if they weren't!

Leaf Peeping

Had to snag a matchy matchy photo that morning cause our pj's were the same colors.

Did a little “leaf peeping” on Sunday after Church. The colors are coming on strong right now, but I especially loved watching Tanner and Landon pulling out their cameras and getting excited to capture the beauty of it all.  And we stopped by Dean's Aunt Linda's grave.  She is buried in a beautiful cemetery with the most incredible view. 🍃🍁 🍂
