"Mom, I see that lady that's not alive..."

So Tanner just came to me and told me that he sees a lady in the closet and she's not alive. I'm starting to get a little freaked out that there's some spirit in my closet. I know the veil is thinner for children, and that the Spirit World is here all around us, but that doesn't mean I feel super knowing some lady's in my closet. Yikes! Then he takes me to see this lady. When I look in the closet it's actually just a little paper activity of "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly." Phew! Ha! The song says, "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly, perhaps she'll die!" Hence the, "she's not alive" part of Tanner's explanation! Hahaha! I'm still laughing about that one.

Dr. Tanner

Today I made a call that you hope you never have to make as a mother. This morning I was in the bathroom for all of ONE minute when I came out and saw that Tanner had the infant gas drops. He proceeded to tell me how he had been giving them to Landon. GREAT! I had no idea how much he had, or how bad that was. The bottle said to contact poison control for an overdose. I was FREAKING OUT just a tad. Luckily, after calling poison control we found out he'd be just fine, but man it scared me! I guess for having an almost 3 year old we've done pretty good considering that was our first call to poison control. Having said that, let's hope it's our last! On the up-side Landon's been gas free today. Ha! And in case you were wondering, Tanner had one serious talking too!

A Boy and His "Noculars"

Tanner's a tough one to keep busy...he's always going, goiNG, GOING! I'm always trying to think of something to occupy him. This worked for a while...

He helped me decorate them, and then we put his little paper towel roll binoculars together. He's seen lots of "far far away" things! Ha! I love it!

A Veterans Day trip to the Zoo...

A cute girl in our ward gave us some tickets she had won for the zoo. They expire at the end of the year and Dean had Thursday off for Veterans Day so we took advantage of the perfect weather and headed to the zoo. Tanner was beyond excited to go. When I told him Monday that we were going to the zoo on Thursday he said, "Is it Thursday today!?" When I told him it was Monday and Thursday was a few days away he said, "It will be Thursday in just 2 more seconds!" After what seemed like an eternity for a two-year-old Thursday finally came and we had a LOT of fun at the zoo. The weather was cool, but so nice, and the animals were out and active. We were a little bummed that the Komodo Dragon was gone for the winter and that the baby tiger cubs aren't out on display yet, but other than that it was perfect!

The sea lions were one of our favorites! They were so interactive and just kept swimming up to see us. Tanner LOVED it!

Landon was more excited this time around. He wanted to be out of his stroller and checking things out.

Tanner, Landon and Mom with the giant polar bear....we actually saw the REAL polar bear swimming around and playing with a ball in the water. SO cool!

Dad and Tanner checking out the monkeys

Tanner's hitchin' a ride on Dad's shoulders. Perfect spot for viewing animals over the crowds.

Dad makes the best pancakes...

Dean's always been the better cook around here. But his food doesn't just taste good, it LOOKS good too! Here's the little surprise he whipped up for Tanner last Saturday...

Can't beat syrup soaked, Mickey pancakes on a Saturday morning! Ahhh....to be a kid again!

Good stuff...

Loving this song... (you might want to pause my playlist first)

Reminds me of these two...
I was kinda in a dream world of memories as I was listening to it until Tanner came and intentionally wiped his runny nose on my hand. Ha! I love being their mom (and a human tissue) and I wish they'd stop growing up so fast!

Hehehe...

all this Halloween candy has NOT been good for Tanner's teeth! ;)

and no need for Rogaine here! ;)

Half Birthday

Yikes!! How did Landon become 6 months old already!?? It seems like it's going even faster the second time around. In honor of his half-birthday here's a few things he's been up to lately...

  1. He is a very efficient little crawler (not quite on all fours but he still uses his arms AND legs and moves pretty fast when he wants to!)
  2. He sits up on his own.
  3. He LOVES food. Everything we've tried so far he scarfs right down. He's going to be a little porker!
  4. He still has the funniest little croaky frog voice.
  5. He loves to sneak into the pile of newspapers any chance he can get.
  6. He only sleeps if Mom is holding him....grrrr....he spends a lot of time in our bed!
  7. He is the gassiest kid I've ever met! People always think he's stinky, but we know he's just tooting! Ha!
  8. He's got two teeth and the cutest little grin around.
  9. His big blue eyes still get everyone's attention!
  10. He's definitely captured our hearts!

We {Heart} Fall

Well, Landon decided we should be wide awake at about 4:30AM this morning so I figured I might as well get something done. So here I am blogging! A couple of weekends ago we actually had a Saturday that wasn't packed with Church activities that we could get some things done around here. Dean tackled the yard and Tanner decided he needed to get in on some of the leaf raking action. This year raking has been cake compared to all the leaves at the trailer! ;) But we still had enough to jump and play in. Some super cute leaf pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Thankful Turkeys

Last night was our annual "Thankful Turkeys" FHE. It was fun this year because Tanner understood a lot better what we were doing and he was so excited all day about making our turkeys. Tanner's answers are all what he told me to put. I thought some of them were pretty funny!
Tanner's thankful for: Sandwiches, Jesus, Coloring, Drops(he takes flouride drops and I guess he likes them), Daddy, our House, his Bib, Mom, Landon, and Eye Balls.

Landon's thankful for: his Binky, Milk, Tanner, Dad, Mom, Cuddles, his Burp Cloth (our kids get attached!), Paper (his favorite thing to chew), Life, and his Toys. (Obviously he had a little help.)

Halloween Wrap-up

Well we've had a LOT of Halloween activities around here lately, but actual Halloween finally came and we got in some trick-or-treating and some Halloween movie action. We had a nice weekend and are now excited that it's NOVEMBER! Crazy!

Thursday night while Dean was out on splits with the missionaries we cuddled up on the couch with some popcorn and looked like this...
While watching this...
Saturday night we headed out Trick-or-Treating. Dean was at some meetings for Stake Conference when we started. First stop, Grandma and PapPap's for some spoiling from the grandparents...
We met up with Dean to Trick-or-Treat around our little neck of the woods and finally introduce ourselves to all our neighbors...
Then we came home and zonked out in our costumes...
And looked through our loot...
OK, ok we didn't just LOOK through it...we ATE way more than we care to admit! But that's what Halloween is all about right!?

After getting Tanner to bed, Dean, Landon and I snuggled up for some more Halloween movie action and watched a little bit of this...
All while roasting some delicious pumpkin seeds. We actually tried out a new recipe (THANKS KEVIN!) and made them with cinnamon and sugar! And man are they YUMMY!
