Mustaches

So admittedly I'm not usually very patient with this kids constant mess making. I know he is capable of eating nicely so that makes it even worse when he chooses to fling his food everywhere. BUT last night this was actually pretty funny. (and creative I might add!) Tanner yelled, "a mustache Mom!," and I looked over and found this...
Hahahaha! I just laughed and grabbed the camera. What a stinker!

He's back!

We had a lot of fun welcoming Eric home yesterday. Tanner warmed up fast and is THRILLED to have his uncle around. He looks great and we're so glad to have him back. And we're so proud of him for his willingness to serve the Lord and the people of Romania for the last two years.

Anxiously awaiting his arrival

Tanner passed the time sitting on Great-Grandma's lap and riding the elevators and escalators. The airports SUPER exciting for a two year old! ;)

Tanner ran right up to him and gave him a hug

And Landon and I were there too, but when you're taking the pictures you don't end up in them. ;)

Just a few more hours...

This kid gets home TODAY! Ok, I guess he's not a kid anymore. But we are super excited...Tanner even had a hard time sleeping last night. He wanted to get up and go get Uncle Eric. We're sure going to enjoy having him around this summer before he heads out to BYU.

And man is he going to be surprised at how much Tanner has grown!

WELCOME HOME ERIC!

I'll let you decide...

Here are some baby pictures of all of us. I tried to get pictures at roughly the same age. I'm pretty sure both boys are a good mix of both Dean and I, but you can decide for yourselves...

Making Strides

Well, Tanner still doesn't really like Landon around half the time, but he definitely likes to hold him so we'll take what we can get! I snapped this shot yesterday and when Tanner saw it this morning he begged and begged to hold his baby brother. It was torture waiting for him to wake up. So we're headed in the right direction! AND it's only 11AM and I'm showered, and both the boys are bathed and fed. That's a pretty big accomplishment these days! ;)

Adjusting...

So despite how cute these two look in this picture, we've had a little bit of a difficult time adjusting to "big brother-dom". Tanner has had several meltdowns begging me to "put him down!" or "put him in other room Mom!" or "give baby brother to Dad!" I guess I expected as much, but I'm hoping it doesn't last long. It hasn't even been two weeks yet, and the first week we were all kind of in limbo with my headache problems. It was pretty funny today though, how suddenly interested Tanner was when everyone at Church was oohing and ahhing over Landon. Speaking of Church, Dean was gone for another ward conference and I successfully got both boys and myself ready and to Church almost on time. I may just survive this mother-of-two thing after all!

Still Alive

Well it's been one heck of a week, but we're all still alive and kicking. For those of you who haven't heard, Landon's delivery went absolutely amazing, but that night I started getting a spinal headache at the hospital. A spinal headache is basically caused when they accidentally knick the dura (outer layer of your spinal column) when giving an epidural. Your brain floats in this fluid and the leak diminishes the pressure needed for your brain to float normally in the spinal fluids. AKA pressure on your brain leading to the WORST HEADACHE IMAGINABLE every time you sit or stand. (Laying down evens things out a bit and helps reduce the pain/pressure). This of course made it difficult to care for my new born baby or anything else for that matter. They perform what is called a blood patch by going back into the same cavity where they administered the epidural and fill it with your own blood to patch the leak. I ended up having TWO blood patches before I felt any relief (the first one didn't work) and was able to check out and go home as scheduled after two VERY long days of pain in the hospital. After being home for a day the headache came back. Since then I've been on high doses of caffeine and ibuprofen around the clock just to be able to function, but I've been pretty antsy and struggled to sleep because of the meds. Anyway, I haven't taken any caffeine since Tuesday night and I'm sitting here blogging, so I think we've FINALLY turned a corner. I'm sure Dean is happy to have his wife back, and Tanner would like to see his mom do something other than lay on the couch all the time!

And now for those of you who actually made it through all of that, here's some long awaited pictures from the last week...

The whole fam together for the first time

Grandpa Nelson holding Landon...the gloves are merely a precaution to keep his poison ivy rash away from the baby.

Grandma Nelson

PapPap Furin

Great-Grandma Furin

Grandma Hilton...we totally lucked out that Landon decided to show up the day my Mom was scheduled to fly in. It was perfect actually! We wouldn't have survived without her help!

Finally able to stand and ready to head home...I didn't know what was ahead of me though!

The cute little man himself

And last but not least I just want to send a little shout out to my Mom, Dean's parents, and everyone else who's done so much for us this last week and a half. We know so many of you have been praying for us, even if you weren't close enough to physically help out. It's been crazy, but we are so blessed to have so many people who care about us, and we're so excited that Landon's finally here and doing so well!

Landon Clesse Nelson

On Tuesday May 4th at 2:21 pm Landon Clesse Nelson became the newest member of our family. He is 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 20.5" long. The delivery went very smoothly and both Andrea and Landon are doing well.
