Father's Day 2016

Sunday morning Dean didn't have to leave for Church until 7:45am which is an hour later than he usually does, so it made serving him breakfast-in-bed a bit easier on the rest of us.  Plus he'd been up finalizing his talk for Sacrament meeting pretty late so I was glad he had a little extra time to sleep in.  After an omelet and some yogurt and granola, the boys were all up and excited to give him his gifts.  His drone was really a Father's Day/Birthday gift, but we couldn't help but give him a little something on Father's Day too.  Tanner and Landon had both made cute cards and gifts at school, and then we made some little tie tacks of the boys for him to wear.  They turned out SO stinking cute.  Makes me almost wish I wore ties.  Almost.  Dean gave a powerful and inspired talk on lifting where we stand and sustaining others in their callings.  He was nervous to give the talk and didn't want to offend anyone, but he pulled it off beautifully and it's always so cool to see the mantle of the Bishop in action.  He was definitely helped from above.  We sure love this man and are so grateful for the amazing job he does taking care of all of us.  I pray the boys all grow up to be just like him.  Happy Father's Day to the best dad we could ask for!  Love you Dean!

Township Fair 2016

Every summer we look forward to supporting our local fire department by attending the fair.  Dean and I usually fight over who will be the ride accompanying parent because somehow, with out either of us knowing, we got OLD and we end up feeling not-so-good after a night of spinning and flying through the air.  Last year I had an easy out of being pregnant so I took one for the team this year.  Braddock couldn't go on everything Tanner and Landon could so we divided and conquered.  The weather was perfect.  Bridger did pretty good hanging with Dad, and ended up even taking a nap in his arms by the end of the night.  And we made it home in time to catch our first fireflies of the season.  A picture perfect summer night.

Golfing with Mrs. Patton

This school year Tanner earned a whopping 156 Accelerated Reading points which was the most in his class.  He came home on the last day of school with this coupon from his teacher and a week later she called to set up the details for golfing the next day.  We dropped him off at the Windmill and he had a blast golfing with his teacher and some other friends that qualified as well.  We're grateful for a boy who loves to read and a teacher who encourages it with such fun incentives.

Soccer Season Wrap Up

We just finished up a great spring soccer season.  We took last fall off because we'd be having a baby in the middle of it, so I was nervous how the boys would be when we started up again.  I was worried for nothing because they had their best season yet by far!  Landon was amazing and scored tons of goals for his team.  Tanner was much more aggressive than in the past and even did really well as goalie when he got the chance.  Most importantly they both really enjoyed it and we enjoyed cheering them on from the sidelines.  They finished up the season with donuts, pizza, and certificates of participation.  And we just had to top things off with a family trip for ice cream to celebrate too!

End of School Luau

We usually spend the last day of the school having a little backyard luau to celebrate the start of summer.  This year due to illness and weather we were about a week late, but that didn't mean it was any less fun.  We dressed up, had smoothies, ate pizza on festive plates, all while listening to Hawaiian music (the one song we have on repeat!).  We finished up the night playing croquet with our new set.  Dean ended up winning.  We'll definitely be demanding a rematch, and soon!  The boys dancing in leis, grass skirts, and even coconuts will rank up there as one of my all time favorite memories.  I laughed until I cried.

Dean's 34th Bday

We got hit hard this past week since school's been out with pink eye for four of the six of us now, as well as some ear infections, and awful sore throats and coughs.  I don't remember ever having such a bad sore throat in my life.  Oh and of course Bridger is teething on top of all of that too.  It's been a great kick start to summer.  But I'm happy to announce that we're all on the mend.  Hopefully Bridger cuts his teeth soon too.  So I'm slow in posting about Dean's birthday but it's not because we don't love him, or that he didn't have a great day, just that life got in the way!  This year the Primary spoiled him with a candy bar poster and a customized rendition of "Our Bishop" the Sunday before his birthday.  Then he still had school on his actual birthday but the boys had off, so we spent our day at home working together to make a tasty birthday dinner for him.  I had lots of helpers peeling potatoes and making rolls.  And it all turned out delicious.  Instead of making dessert he opted to go to Brusters for ice cream and who am I to argue with the birthday boy!?  We gave him a few small gifts, but his main gift was a drone that came in the mail a few days later.  So grateful to have this incredible man in our lives.

Braddock wanted to give Dean some gummy bears (his favorite treat!) but apparently he expected Dad to share.

Someone else is trying to sneak Dad's gummy bears!
