Pittsburgh Temple Update

Stole these cool pictures of the Pittsburgh Temple from facebook, but it's really coming along.  This week they even finished the guilding of the lettering on the outside of the temple.  We are getting SO excited for it to be done and ready for us to attend.

Raspberries

While Mom and Dad Nelson were out of town, we were tasked with taking care of their raspberries.....shucks! 😂 Bridger was an awesome little helper and came to pick with us and then he helped turn them into some yummy raspberry jam.
We got creative with the bowls so we could pick with two hands.  My overalls and Bridger's hoodie backwards. Hahaha!

We'll savor every bite of this yummy stuff!

Stake Relief Society Service Day

On September 10th I was called to be the Stake Relief Society Secretary.  One of two actually!  It's going to be a total change of pace from YW's and then Primary, but I'm excited for the things I'll learn and the people I'll meet.  Sister Linda Johnson came to our Ward for my call and setting apart and snapped this pic...

I was called just in time to jump in and help a bit for the Stake RS Day of Service.  Keaton and I went out on Friday to help set up where we snapped a quick photo to get people excited to come.  The picture ended up being posted a funny way that made me look like this.....

Bwahahaha!  My first event, and this is how I was introduced.  Note that no one else in the picture is distorted.  Just me! 😂😂😂  Later that night Dean, Keaton, and I went back out to the Stake Center to try and fix the sound system.  We made an evening of it and grabbed Chinese on our way home.  Keaton was enamored by the fish tank at the restaurant and he had everyone there obsessed with him before we left.

This fish was our favorite.

And we snapped a quick picture with the Temple.  It's coming along!

The next day was our actual Day of Service where over 100 sisters participated and completed the following projects:

    • 41 tied fleece blankets for My Very Own Blanket (children in foster care)

    • 150 Thank you cards for the Larsens

    • 157 blank cards for residents of nursing homes to give to one another

    • FamilySearch–indexing and personal family history

    • 510 Cookie and Muffin bagging for North Country, McCandles, and Zelienople Meals on Wheels

    • Color A Smile–81 coloring pictures for elderly and soldiers

    • 24 Hygiene kits for Gateway Rehabilitation Center - Moffett House

    • 15 baby shower baskets for refugees Agapo Ministries

    • 50+ Glasses donated for the Lions Club Eyeglass Collection

And here's my cute presidency....Beth Richey, Me, Linda Johnson, Angie Popa, and Christina Rozday

Funnies

Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the to-do lists, and homework, and discipline side of parenting and forget to relax and ENJOY these funny kids we have.  Here's a couple funnies lately....
To be funny Dean bought a bunch of Backyardigan keychains for $1 at an overstock discount store.  I don't think he ever imagined Braddock would one up him and put them ALL on his trapper keeper and take them to school.  Hahahaha!

Bridger went to school one random day with a mustache just to be funny.  He got some laughs out of his classmates and then was invited to remove it by his teacher.  Haha!  #worthit
Braddock's classmates were teasing him that he looked like Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb so the next day he fully committed and went dress as him.  His teacher got a kick out of it and emailed this picture to Dean.

One night when I was out and Dean was home with the boys he sent me this picture.  Braddock and Bridger were his shoulder angel/devil.....I'll let you decide which was which. 😂

Keaton Lately

I LOVE spending my days at home with this kiddo.  I especially love when he puts his little hand on my cheek or on my arm when I'm holding him.

Full of grins and digging his quilt from Grandma Nelson.  SO cute!

Uh oh....he can roll over even when swaddled.  Guess it's time to ditch the swaddle, but that's going to mean sleep regression. 😭
This little bear suit is part of his upcoming Halloween costume, but it turns him into a real life teddy bear and we are all obsessed with it.

He's getting so good at tummy time and grins and slobbers through it all!

I love this cute outfit and I'm amazed that he's not bothered by the grass like most my kids at this age.

These two love each other.  I'm just always nervous about letting them around each other on the outside chance something could go bad, but so far Chloe loves licking him and Keaton loves to be licked.  Hahaha!

Just looking WAY too grown up sitting on the couch.  I'm also obsessed with these darling linen overalls.

Finally to the point where he can smile through tummy time.  That grin never gets old and it's usually accompanied by drool.

Poor boy had four shots in his legs and one oral vaccination.  He's a little trooper and it about broke this momma's heart!
