Hopewell Park Fun

When it’s 56 in February and you have an early dismissal, you kind of have to hit up the park to soak up the sun and do some good, old-fashioned exploring. Loved spending the day with these three and reminiscing about all the time we’ve spent at this very park over the years.

A Grand New Adventure

Yesterday Dean was called as the 2nd Counselor in our Stake Presidency. (For those not of our faith he will be serving over 8 local congregations. Which will be lots of travel and time away particularly on Sundays.) This is something that we’re humbled by, excited for, and a bit nervous about, but when you’re doing the Lord’s work He qualifies and blesses you for your sacrifices. We’re looking forward to the learning and growth our family will go through as we embrace this new call. And what a blessing to serve alongside such powerful men of God. ❤️

Valentine's 2026

Had a nice chill Valentines at home with this cool crew. It was a good mix of work (it is Saturday after all and chores don’t do themselves!) and fun (Chinese takeout for dinner with Bridger’s brownies for dessert!) Dean also got me flowers and the sweetest card where he wrote 14 things he loves about me and I felt so loved and seen!  I wrapped up the daily hearts on everyone’s doors this morning (been texting Tanner every day all month too!).  And Bridger’s class did “anything but a Valentine’s box” this year so he sported a 5 gallon bucket with some axolotl squishes to hand out to his class. I love loving on these guys! ❤️

Fixed some yummy omelets for breakfast.

Had to make a Korean Drama themed card since it's Dean and I's current favorite pass-time.

Mock Trial

This week Landon won “Best Witness” at his Mock Trial competition and wrapped up the season. It was fun watching him perform and next year he may just try his hand at lawyer.

Tanner's 18!

I’ve spent more time looking through old photos and videos today than I’d care to admit. And FaceTime’s not nearly the same as being together, but we’ll take what we can get. 18 years of loving Tanner and we’re excited for what his future holds. Happy Birthday Bud! 🎉🎉🎉 We love your quirks, uniqueness, and your passion for trying new things. Life has never been dull since you came on the scene and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Hope your big day has been great, we love you!
Grandma and Grandpa Hilton came in clutch and drove to Provo to take Tanner some cake and celebrate him a bit in person!

And Tanner's cool friends pulled off a surprise party for him at Color Me Mine complete with cake and a video message from us.  This momma heart was full knowing he was loved and celebrated.

Andrea's Birthday Bash

When Dean asked me what I wanted for my birthday I told him I wanted to spend it as a family.  And it just so happened that the Monster Jam Truck Rally would be in Pittsburgh that day so I suggested that's what we do and he grabbed tickets.  Believe it or not this boy mom had never been to anything like that and I was legitimately excited to do that with my boys for my birthday.  So after spending the day with Keaton playing endless amounts of games, we hurried out to Pittsburgh for an evening of fun.  I think we all had a blast minus Keaton.....that kid just can't ever go with the flow.  But he looked so stinking cute in his oversized ear protectors we'll forgive him.

Mom's favorite game!  And yes I can smoke everyone at Battle Dome!

Keaton's all about the games these days....mom tries not to have a panic attack about the mess.

This kid can set up the entire "Mouse Trap" nearly by himself!

Squeezed in a video chat with Mom and Dad

The one female driver Sparkle Smash

I was honestly most impressed by the motorcyclists during intermission.  They were amazing!

Favorite moment of the night was when El Toro Loco did an actual flip off of the dirt mound during their freestyle routine.  Mind blowing!

And leave it to Braddock to find and scale a massive tower of snow on the way back to the car.

Dean got me some beautiful roses.
Since we were in a rush on my actual birthday to make it to the Monster Jam Dean fixed me a delicious birthday dinner the next night and we finished the evening with a root beer taste testing and root beer floats for dessert.  And we even got to use our new thrifting score, Coca Cola mugs for the perfect floats!  And Mug Root Beer one top of everyone's favorites list.

Love a good pot roast and veggies

These were the kinds we managed to track down. I was surprised how different they taste when compared to each other.

And then we partied some more at Sunday dinner.  Mom Nelson spoiled me with yummy cheesecake for my birthday!
