Baseball Season

For years now Landon's been saying he'd love to try baseball.  That kid is a natural at it, but the season goes into the summer and often messes with our summer plans.  After enough begging, we looked into things when sign ups came around and decided to give it a go.  Due to a series of events like Sunday practices we chose not to participate in, and being busy over spring break, he had never actually met his team when it was time for pictures.  I was looking at the picture schedule and saw that it had his team listed as a 4-5 year old team.  Well he turns 7 in two weeks so that didn't seem right.  I asked Dean to contact his coach who responded with a copy of Landon's sign-up form that had him listed as being born in 2012.  Hahaha!  Well, Dean put Braddock's birth year on accident so it was totally our fault, but they were nice and helped straighten everything out just in time for pictures and their first game on Saturday.  For having only met his team that day and having never been to a single practice or game, Landon killed it!  He got a hit on the first try every time up to bat and did great in outfield when the ball would come his way.  He's already liking it more than soccer, so this just may be his sport.

This is actually Tanner and Braddock.  It was FREEZING cold which we weren't exactly prepared for, so they huddled under the one blanket I happened to throw in.

Despite the cold this kid just wouldn't sit still.  It's gonna be a long season chasing him around every game.
Still can't get enough of this dinosaur jacket.  Probably the best crafting project ever!

Spring Break 2017

We had lots of things we would have loved to do while my parents were here, but I think we did a pretty good job of packing in a good amount of fun even if we didn't get to everything on our LONG list.  On their last day here they spent the morning packing up and then we headed to Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop while Bridger took a nap.  We came home and picked Dean and Bridger up and headed to the park with lunch from Arby's to wrap up our last couple hours together.  We had tons of fun playing on the playground, but my favorite's always the walk around the pond.  Bridger was just as excited about the ducks as he was about the chickens at Rogers earlier.  And it's frog season again so there was no shortage of frog sightings and Tanner even caught a few.  Then it was off to the airport.  It's always sad to say goodbye, but we have some fun plans this summer to look forward to.  Thanks for an amazing visit Grandma and Grandpa!

Spring Break 2017

We spent Easter at Church in the morning, then we enjoyed family dinner with three sets of Grandparents at Dean's parent's house.  Our boys are pretty lucky to have so many grandparents to love and spoil them.  When we got home my parents let Dean, Bridger and I take naps while they spent time with the older boys and when we got up we did our Resurrection Easter egg hunt.  We've never done it on Easter before and it was a great way to finish off the day.  We ended things with a sweet testimony meeting where everyone had the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings about our Savior.  Braddock and Bridger weren't as attentive as I'd hoped, but that's life with littles.  We'll get there eventually.  How very grateful we are for our Savior and Redeemer, and for the knowledge that He lives and loves us each so very much.

Spring Break 2017

The Saturday morning before Easter we woke to a visit from the Easter Bunny.  He was even nice enough to remember Grandma and Grandpa too.  Tanner and Landon woke up way earlier than Braddock or Bridger, so I did my best to keep them quiet and entertained in their room until the little boys were up.  We finally just woke Bridger up so we could get on with the Easter egg hunt.  He was a little groggy, but caught on fast enough.  With the living room all changed around the Easter Bunny had to find different places for eggs this year, but that didn't stop the boys from finding them all.  And He was so grateful for the bowl of lettuce and carrots that Tanner left him as well.

Spring Break 2017

Just an hour or so from us there is a gigantic flee market.  Dean and I went once, but it was in March and apparently it's a thousand times bigger in April.  Haha!  We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.  Thank heavens we had four adults to help keep track of the boys because otherwise we wouldn't have come home with all of them.  There was a really cool metal sculpture booth that we all loved, and we of course had to buy some gyros and hand dipped corn dogs.  We made sure to make it all the way down to the animal auction site where the boys had mixed reactions.  Landon was scared of EVERYTHING and Bridger LOVED every single animal and squealed with delight.  He even started making chicken sounds.  We ended the day with some yummy snow-cones thanks to Grandma and Grandpa and the boys each picked out a toy to buy.  Tanner and Landon came home with some airsoft guns and Braddock got a cool expanding ball.  Oh and of course we couldn't leave without a dozen Amish donuts to go.

Spring Break 2017

We saved egg decorating for when my parents were here.  The boys all had a lot of fun, and Bridger even got in on the action with some washable markers.  Genius!  Good thing we all love eggs around here cause we boiled 4 dozen!  And they're already almost gone a week later.
