Big Knob Fair

Wednesday night we all headed out to the Big Knob Fair.  We've never been before and it's a bit bigger than our little, local fair.  They even had animals which added to the fun, although Landon was less than impressed and went around with his nose plugged the whole time.  Guess he doesn't appreciate the animal smell. ;)  Some sweet person gave Janna a stuffed dog they had won.  The kids had a blast riding all the rides, and the Dads were good sports and rode until they were sick.  (Dean took a good 24 hours to completely recover.  When did we get so old!?)  I was perfectly happy just being the photographer for the evening.  The fair draws all sorts of people out, and it's always fun people watching at places like this.  It was a great night and we appreciate Mom and Dad for taking us all.

Tanner was thrilled when he found out he could ride on the "Fire Ball."  That kid is a thrill seeker for sure.

We about died laughing when Braddock actually raised his hands in the air on this roller coaster.

Grant, Rachel and Eli

We LOVE when family comes to town.  Grant, Rachel and Eli have been here all week and we've been having so much fun.  We've spent time in the pool, played in the yard and on the swing set, roasted smores, and had them over to our house to play.  We even went to the fair the other night, but that deserves it's own post.  The boys have had so much fun playing with Eli and it's so nice having a cousin in town to run around with.  Here's a couple pictures from our marshmallow roast the other night...

How many little boys can we fit on a swing??
Waiting patiently for the fire to be ready.

These little fire bugs kept moving closer, and closer, and closer.

This kid knows what his favorite part is.  Forget the marshmallow and the graham crackers, just go straight for the CHOCOLATE!

Ice Cream in a Can with Janna

August is quickly coming to an end so we figured we should hurry and make sure we got in our night with Janna this month.  Saturday night we had her over and tried out this recipe for making ice cream in a can.  We had Janna pour everything in, and mix it all up, and then we all moved into the living room to roll the can back and forth.  The boys thought it was the coolest, and Janna was a good sport to keep rolling for what seemed like ages.  End results were still pretty runny(should have rolled a bit longer!), but it still tasted great and the boys love their ice cream melted so they were thrilled.  We sure love spending time with Janna!

Braddock's TWO

Thursday was Braddock's 2nd Birthday.  I love two year old birthdays.  They're old enough to get what's going on, and be fun and excited about everything, but there's no real pressure cause they'll love anything.  Braddock woke up to his birthday balloon and then had breakfast with a birthday donut to boot!  After we got Tanner off to his first day of school I threw the boys in a bubble filled tub to splash and play.  They were having a blast until Landon picked up what he thought was a toy, only to find out it was an extra birthday surprise unloaded by the birthday boy.  Ha!  Gross!  It took forever to rinse the bubbles all out in order to survey the damage and clean things up.  Never a dull moment right!?  Then we decided to spend some time at the park, feeding the ducks, playing, and having a picnic lunch.  We all came home tired so all three of us crashed for a birthday nap.  It was HEAVEN!  Once Dean and Tanner got home it was time to get on some dinner and get ready for his family party.  The boys were so cute and excited waiting for everyone to come.  Braddock was spoiled silly and loved everything he got.  We topped the night off with frozen bananas and a monkey cake.

He insisted on wearing his sunglasses the WHOLE time.

A boy, a stick, and a million little rocks.  I think he was on cloud nine.
To decorate we rounded up all our stuffed monkeys and stuck them around the house.  Braddock ran around pointing to them all saying, "Ooo, ooo, ahhh, ahhh" all day long.

Front and back of his monkey birthday shirt.
Anxiously awaiting our guests.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Buddy!  We sure love you and are so glad you're a part of our family.
