Splash Pad Shenanigans

Yesterday Braddock and Bridger had a half day at school, so we finally hit up the new splash pad by us. They were SO excited to take Keaton and show him the ropes. Landon didn’t have early dismissal and was so bummed to have missed it, so we ran out there again today! I love seeing them find joy in the simple things. It’s not lost on me that most 15 year olds aren’t stoked about taking their 2 year old little brother to the splash pad and I feel blessed that these amazing boys are mine!

Jr High Soccer

Braddock played on the Jr High Boys Soccer Team again this year.  They had a new coach and a much bigger team and they played hard.  More wins all around and it was a great season.
Finally got the whole crew out to watch Braddock’s soccer game and they even managed to snag a win!! ⚽️

Keaton was eyeing the hill the whole game and finally at the end his big brothers helped him run down and get back up it.
Braddock already had his hippo at school for some English class thing so Kumba came as the teams mascot for the day.  The "Hopewell Hippos"! Hahahaha!

I somehow drew the short straw and got to be the parent to attend Braddock's VERY rainy soccer game.  Even with a big umbrella I went home soaked and you can imagine what Braddock and his teammates were like!

Braddock's Hat Day

It’s hat day today and Braddock wouldn’t be Braddock if he didn’t take it to the next level. 🤣 He must be taking cues from one of our favorite childhood books. Last year for pajama day he layered on 8 pairs of pajamas and took one off in between every class so he had a different pair each period. 🤣 Good thing it’s a half day, cause I can’t imagine that stack of hats is comfortable. 😉

Eggs N'at

Thanks to some bloodwork Dean had to get done, he took a half day at work and we got to meet up for breakfast at a new-to-us place we've been wanting to try for awhile now.  The food was delicious, but Keaton was, well TWO! Haha!  I love the chance to spend a little extra time with Dean though, no matter the circumstances.

Don't let that cute face fool you......he took off his shoes and socks and threw them.  He threw his silverware on the floor too.  He ate next to nothing, and yelled and screamed a lot.  He's a big stinker, but he's our big stinker and we love him anyway!

Brothers

I took Keaton with me to the high school for Landon’s GIEP, and I’ll never forget how they both lit up when they saw each other. (Having teenagers and toddlers is actually super cool!)

Nate and Molly's Reception

We got to sneak away for the day to Ohio for Nate and Molly's ring ceremony and reception.  It was of course planned down to the tiniest of details and picture perfect in every way.  I aspire to reach the level of amazing that Katie McCleery is!  It was at Katie's parent's farm and was just so perfectly Molly.  It's been so fun to watch Nate and Molly grow from childhood friends to husband and wife and they are so good for each other.  Can't wait to see what the future brings for their new eternal family.  Congrats guys!  We love you both!

It was hot, but of course they had darling heart shaped fans for all the guests to beat the heat.

Kerry Weeks did such a great job with the ring ceremony.

George the Donkey was their ring bearer.  Dying over that little top hat!

Like I said, every tiny detail was considered.

A surprise signed song by Grace and Katie had Molly in tears. It was the sweetest gift!

Wedding cake topped with goat bride and groom.  I LOVED it!!

And a dance as Bride and Groom.  These two!! 😍

Cleaning the Church

It was our turn to clean the Church once again, but life lately makes it very hard to find time for anything so the only time we could do it was Friday night during the football game sans Landon.  Mom and Dad were out of town at Dianne's and planned to squeeze in their part late Saturday night and we didn't want them having to do that so we made sure to clean it all.  The boys were great helpers and tag teamed to keep Keaton occupied too.  We actually got it all done in a reasonable amount of time and of course had to grab a treat at Wendy's after.  Grateful for a crew of willing helpers.

If there's something interesting to be found, count on Braddock to find it.  There was an old cash box in the Library with a handwritten IOU note from Dean's Dad for $5.  Hahaha!

Fall Soccer

Bridger started the fall soccer season off with a 7-4 win and was given the player of the game award by his coach! ⚽️ Looking forward to a great season ahead. Proud of this kiddo and his hard work to improve.  He's playing up in a higher league and still rocking it among older kids.  He decided over the summer to start running a mile every day and it has definitely improved his stamina on the field!

Labor Day Shenanigans

We enjoyed some beautiful weather and went out adventuring yesterday for Labor Day. We haven’t dared brave the kayaks with Keaton before, but other than some complaining on his part (he wanted to be IN the water not ON it) he did great. Every time we do something as a family I miss Tanner extra, but knowing he was having a fun day with new friends made it ok.

That water was COLD!

Love when big brothers help little brothers.  Keaton always wants to be in on the action and his brothers always jump in and make it happen.
Despite this photo Braddock never managed to let go and jump in.  He was kinda disappointed in himself but Landon was the cutest little cheerleader trying to help him be brave.  Landon jumped in but on accident when his hands slipped, and Bridger was actually the fearless one who jumped in on purpose.
