At the Park

Friday night we decided to celebrate the fact that we survived the first week of school by having a picnic dinner at the park. Tanner goes to this park all the time with Grandma and PapPap, but we had never been so we decided to check it out. He showed us all around, and most the time we were the only ones there, so we enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves!

Landon cracks us up in this shot! Hahaha!

Going for a little drive

Riding on dinosaurs

Love this! It's rare that a hold-the-camera-out-and-hope-we're-both-in-it
shot turns out this good!

Teeter-totter

Who doesn't love a tire swing??

Sliding down the fire pole

Mom had every bit as much fun as the boys!

Tanner's such a cutie!

Always a willing photograph subject

And eventually we had to go home....some of us were happier about it than others. Ha!

Camping/Fishing

To wrap up our trip in Utah we got to spend a few days up American Fork Canyon doing some camping and fishing. We had SO much fun. Seriously, the boys are such good campers and they always love it. We just wish we could go more often. Scott and Laura's family got to come up for the first day and fish with us, and then we enjoyed the rest of the time with Eric, Jake, Mom(Grandma), and Dad(Grandpa). The first night we had a down pour and our little tent was leaking, so we ended up ALL squeezing into one tent. It made for bit of an adventure but we still had a blast! That's what memories are made of right!? We had to drive up a bumpy, dirt road to get there, but we fished on Silver Lake where we ended up catching 15 fish altogether. Tanner even caught his very first fish, ALL BY HIMSELF! It was AWESOME! And here are about a MILLION pictures, but I just can't help myself....

Love this one! All my boys fishing together.

And my other cute camper...just not as little
Something about big rocks that attracts boys . . . and men!  Ha!
Tanner chillin' in the hammock
Jake with his fish
Tanner with his big, catch of the day. It was actually one of the biggest fish we caught.
We were SO proud of our little fisherman!
Grandma lounging in the hammock
Landon and Grandpa relaxing
Yes that is my crazy, hairy brother, with my baby in the middle of the lake. Yikes! Ha! Love you Eric!
Me and one of my fish
The second day Jake was super nice and let Dean try out his hip waders
and float tube. Dean had the time of his life and actually caught his limit!
Isn't this place GORGEOUS!? And if you look closely that's
Dean out there fishing on the left in the shadows.
Eric and one of his fish....he had a knack for hooking them through the eye!
And we roasted some string cheese! Yuuummmy!
And on the way home we stopped at Cascade Springs.

Amy and Piper

Amy and Piper weren't able to make it up to the Cabin with us so we squeezed in a quick visit with them on Sunday, July 24th. Piper and Landon are just about a month apart and they are just about the same size. It was so fun to see them and see how much Piper's grown since we saw her last! Sadly, Tate was out of town for work so we missed him.

Hilton Family Get-Together

After getting back from the Cabin on Saturday, July 23rd we got together with all the Hilton side of the family that night. We were able to see almost everyone and catch up on what they're all up to. Dean even got to work on the Model-T a bit. They determined it needs a belt replaced, and it's not exactly something you can just run and pick up at Auto Zone, so sadly he didn't ever get to take it for a spin, but I think he enjoyed himself anyway. And we topped off the night with some MORE fireworks. My Dad was pretty cute and wanted to do them again for Landon since he loved them so much!

Cabin Trip with Friends

Friday, July 22nd we got to spend the night at my Grandparent's cabin with some of my best friends. Sadly not everyone could make it, but we still had fun without them. It was especially fun to get together with our whole families this time, and let our kids play and get to know each other better. We ate WAY too much, roasted marshmallows, the boys played Risk and us girls stayed up WAY too late chatting and reminiscing about the good old days. I'm so blessed to still be friends with girls I've known since elementary!

Tanner picked Melissa some flowers

Dean and I were there too, but I didn't manage to get pictures of us! We had SO much fun and it was so fun to squeeze in a little friend time while we were out there too.

Bear Lake Get-Away

Dean and I really have never had a night away since Tanner was born...unless you count Pioneer Trek or a quick trip to the temple at 7 months pregnant! ;) So my parents were nice enough to watch the boys while we ran up to Bear Lake for a night. The water is SO high this year but that didn't stop us from having a great time. First, we stopped at the lake and enjoyed the beach(what's left of it with the crazy high water), and the water for a few hours before checking into our condo for the night. Then we headed over to Bear Lake Steakhouse for a delicious dinner. And we of course had to stop at La Beau's for some raspberry shakes, which we ate as we walked the little path by our condo and watched the sunset over the lake! It was such a perfect little escape!

Yes, we brought our matching inflatable lounge chairs!

Can't beat La Beau's famous Raspberry Shakes! We even stopped in to grab scones on our way home the next morning.
