Sweetie

Braddock had a rough day behavior-wise and as he sat in his room contemplating his actions he softened and whipped up these "sweet" notes for all of us to try and make up for it.  He's my Jekyll/Hyde for sure, but man does he win us all over with that sensitive side of his.

(Mom and Dad you guys care for us and help us.  Mom your "kiss" helps me go to sleep knowing that you guys care.  Dad you "Pop" with ideas to make mine work. -Braddock)
(Bridger your the best first and you help me out in so many ways.  You "pop" with kindness. -Braddock)

(Landon you and everybody knows your Mom's fav and your mine two.  You spred "dots" of kindness every were you go. -Braddock)
(Tanner everyone knows your the greatest scientist in town.  Your "Toxic" stuff is soooo fascinating. - Braddock)

Golden Trout

Dean doesn't get out fishing nearly as much as he'd like to, so when the Elder's Quorum planned a fishing night I encouraged him to go even though he was feeling bad about leaving me solo with all the boys.  Turns out he was the only one to show other than the guy who planned it so I was extra glad he went.  And he ended up snagging this GOLDEN TROUT!  It was a stocked pond and it had exactly one golden trout for a fishing derby that had already happened but this guy had evaded everyone.  Dean was the lucky guy to land him and now he has bragging rights.

Keaton Max Nelson

Seriously Loved

Keaton’s a little starved for attention over here. 🤣 I’ve literally had to break up fights over who gets to hold him. Guess there’s worse things to fight over. 😉

Tanner's funny about Keaton and struggles to understand why babies act the way they do, but he is easily the most intrigued by him.

Bridger is our most willing diaper changer.  And he has taken it upon himself to be the diaper disposer too.  He throws away every diaper for me when he's around to do it!

As soon as Braddock got home from school he bee-lined for Keaton's bassinet to see him.  A full school day away from his baby was too much.

Back at Christmas time I couldn't resist snagging baby pj's for Keaton to match our Christmas pajamas.  I'm so glad I did cause these cuties LOVE matching him.

I had to run Tanner to the school really quick and I put Landon in charge of Keaton while I was gone.  I came home to him peacefully sleeping on his chest.  He's the baby whisperer around here.

Spring Jr. High Band Concert

This was our first real outing into public since Keaton was born and it felt like a lot just to get us all fed, clothed, and out the door in time.  Keaton was a champ and slept through the whole thing in his carseat.  This was Braddock's first band concert and they actually played really well for beginners.  We especially loved the "Popcorn Song" they played where different sections took turns popping out of their seats throughout the song.  Landon had some trumpet solos with the Jazz Band and they were extra fun to listen to.  Jazz music gets me every time.  Several people popped over to peek at Keaton and it turned out to be a really great night.

I love watching his big brothers be enamored by him.

The whole thing wore us all out.

Big Boy Bath

It took a full two weeks before Keaton lost his umbilical cord.  But man is it easier after that thing finally goes.  We were thrilled to finally be able to give him a full bath and not have to worry about it.  He liked it much better than the little sponge bathing in the sink.  We may have a bath fan after all.

Nelson Visits

We loved having Grant and Rachel's family and Eric and Morgan's family all out to visit within the first two weeks of Keaton's life.  It was so fun having cousins to play with and fun things going on for the boys while we were settling in to newborn life again.  Living clear across the country from much of our family often means we don't get to meet new cousins until their pretty old, so it was extra special they got to meet Keaton right off the bat.  Some of our favorite activities while they were here was water fights, going to the local arcade, and smore's and woofums by the fire.  We also played lots of games and the cousins had tickle fights for hours to "build their abs."  Hahaha!  Sure grateful to be doing life with all these people!

Meeting Janna for the first time.  The screaming's nothing against her, just his general temperament.  Haha!
Loved meeting Grant, Rachel, Graycee, and Eli too!

They went through a TON of water balloons, and then chased each other around with the buckets.

Telestrations was a fave this visit.

Keaton loved being held by everyone.  Sleeping soundly in Grandpa's arms.

Cal was happy to have Mom and Dad back from Iceland and we all loved hearing about their trip.

Tickle time!  Braddock was so confused as to why he was so sore the next day.  Hahaha!
