Wrapping up 2nd Grade

The end of the school year was full of fun for Bridger.  His school did a big fundraiser called the "Race for Education."  Basically you are supposed to get people to donate on your behalf and then you run a bunch of laps with your classmates to "earn" that money.  Bridger came in 3rd in his class and won a medal.  He came home pretty excited about that!  As part of the fundraiser incentive the highest earning kids got to pie their teachers.  Bridger's friend Landen got Mrs. Sittig good!  They also had an awards ceremony where he was recognized for being the top reader in the 2nd grade.  He got a t-shirt and a certificate.  And they also had Indy Day which is the field day they have at the end of each year.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so everything had to be moved indoors but they still managed to have a lot of fun.  And for the last day of school Bridger donned his suit to go out with a bang!

Memorial Day 2024

We celebrated yesterday at Hopewell’s Memorial Day Parade. So grateful for those who have sacrificed so much so that we can enjoy the freedoms we do. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ And we now have a senior drum major! Way to go Tanner. Try not to boss Landon around too much. πŸ˜‰

8th Grade Class Trip

I dropped Landon off at 6am for all the 8th graders to board some buses to head out for their adventures in Cleveland for the day.  They haven't done an 8th Grade Trip since Covid hit, so this was a big deal and they were excited!  He was nice enough to take some pictures and I snagged a few from his teachers too.  They got to tour the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame, the Football Hall of Fame, the Cleveland Zoo, and went on a dinner cruise on Lake Erie.  They didn't make it back to the school until 10:30pm and it was a LONG day but he came back happy and chatty about all the fun they had.  Grateful this kid has a good group of friends and enjoys school so much.

Bottle Rockets with the YM

We had a great time launching bottle rockets with the Young Men last night.  Landon was in charge of the activity and they had spent the previous week building the rockets at the Church and everyone was excited to try them out at the park.  Braddock’s rocket went the farthest and he was pretty proud. We wrapped up the evening with double the treats thanks to a miscommunication, but I didn’t hear anyone complaining!🀣 Ice cream sandwiches AND s’mores! Yum!

Read 'N' Quiz Picnic

I was lucky enough to help with the Read 'N' Quiz Picnic Party that the 2nd grade teachers put on for all the kids who earned 50 or more reading points this year.  Rumor has it that was ALL the kids which is awesome!  Us mom's arrived early to prep the food and tables and brought yard games for them to play.  We watched them all march over from the school and they didn't waste any time getting lunch.  They had fun playing games, or playing on the playground, and of course eating popsicles.  Bridger and his friends played a million rounds of corn hole with me.  I felt honored that they all wanted to be on my team....when I play with adults I'm not usually the coveted teammate.  Haha!  Rain clouds started rolling in so we cut things a bit short and they headed back to the school before the storm hit, but I followed through on my promise and I checked Bridger out early and brought him home with me and he was thrilled!
These cool kids even had a police escort from the school to the park!

Hunter and Tyler

This cool kid finished the year with 156.4 points which was more than any other 2nd grader!  Proud of him and his hard work to read so much this year.

Spring Flowers and Popsicles

These two are forever twinning every chance they can get! We enjoyed the beautiful weather last night outside and I love watching them all play together. Keaton laps up their attention, and wants to be one of the big boys. He tried his first popsicle and wasn’t prepared for the cold at first, but he quickly caught on! 🀣 We’re all looking forward to summer around here, and the Spring blossoms are winning us over too!

He warmed up to popsicles pretty fast! πŸ˜‚
