Arthur the Aardvark

Yesterday Tanner came over to me and told me he drew "Arthur" and handed me this...
Now keep in mind he's only seen "Arthur" a handful of times and he wasn't looking at anything at the time. In fact, he probably hasn't seen the show in weeks. I was floored! It's obviously not perfect, but for a three year old to pull this out of his head and put in on paper I was seriously shocked! See any resemblance??

Spring has Sprung

Today and yesterday have felt like spring around here. We know it's not going to last, but why not take advantage of it while we can right!? So we headed outside and enjoyed a picnic lunch on the deck...

Three stages of hot dogs...Ha!

Landon scarfed down his food as usual and then decided to play with my water bottle.

Tanner all ready for our picnic. It was his idea!

Then we had to play of course! Tanner had to do a dance to celebrate the warm weather and he insisted I take some pictures.

I wish Tanner wasn't pulling such a funny face, but otherwise a nice shot....especially for a self-timer with two little guys.

Mom and Landon Man

My feet were so happy in these!

Crawlin' around the deck....don't worry I snapped the shot and then stopped him from getting any slivers. Hopefully by summer he'll be running around the deck! Yikes!

And we got in some sliding time!

Tanner's a sliding pro!

And last but not least I LOVE this shot....I caught both of them running around having fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to...

...this awesome MOM and GRANDMA!
(Sorry you're in your pj's in this picture, but I LOVE it! It captures perfectly your love and relationship with my boys! They're pretty lucky to have such a great grandma!)

We love you and hope you have a GREAT day!

SUPER DEALS

So I know I'm a little addicted and out of control but seriously can you blame me when you get screaming deals like this!?! I went to 1/2 price day at Salvation Army today and got all of this....

Four great kids games and a Sesame Street DVD.

Flats, 2 pairs of boots, and a scarf in my current color fetish, for me.

A coat for Tanner for next winter. 5 shirts, some pjs and a pair of pants for Landon.

And probably the greatest find of all....A BRAND NEW, IN THE BOX, walker toy for Landon.

And here's the kicker....it was all for a mere $43!!! The walker alone would have cost that much at Walmart! Score!

Our Valentines

We got the boys a little something for Valentines. It was all from either Salvation Army or the dollar spot at Target so it was under $4! Yes! I think they liked it but you can decide that...

And Dean and I decided a card and Chinese food sounded WAY better than some elaborate gifts so we tried out a new Chinese place for dinner. We lucked out and it was DELICIOUS! No cooking AND leftovers for tonight! Yes!

We spent the evening delivering Valentines to Grandma and PapPap and Mom and Dad and Janna. Janna LOVED her sucker by the way! And then at bed time Dean found this under his pillow...
It's kind of hard to see but Tanner made this card and drew a picture of Dean and I and wrote I {heart} U! He also added some homemade confetti! Ha! Too cute!

Happy Valentines Day!

We've put together a few cute valentines around here this year...

The nursery kids all got some candy bracelets. Who doesn't love a good candy bracelet!?!

And this one I'm particularly excited to give to my sister-in-law Janna. She's deaf and blind, so we sign in her hand. Tanner's known this sign for a long time and he loves to say "I love you" to her. She always gets a sweet grin across her face and then says "I love you" back. Tanner gets so excited and says, "She said I love you Mom!!" It's one of my favorite things to see. So when we saw this sucker at Walmart we just had to get it for her!

Then I made a few heart-shaped cake pops for my in-laws. Hope they like them!

Tanner helped me make this Valentine for my parents.

He told me what to write to them, and then he signed his name....
...ALL BY HIMSELF!!! Can you believe it!?! I was super impressed. And technically he was still 2 at the time which sounds even better! Ha!

HAPPY VALENTINES!

Happy 3rd Birthday to Tanner!

Well it's true, our little boy is THREE! I seriously can't believe he can be that old already. I'll admit, I had a bit of a panic moment the night before his birthday that before I know it he'll be moving away to college! Ahh! Can't we stop time or something!? Although, it would be nice if he could go to the bathroom by himself and stuff, so maybe we'll let him grow a little more. ;) Anyway, we had a super fun day together. He woke up to a Buzz and Woody balloon at his bedroom door. When I originally asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner his response was, "beans, macaroni and cheese and pancakes." Great! Sounds delicious! Ha! So I convinced him that it might be better to have the pancakes for breakfast and then have macaroni, beans, and pizza for dinner. So we started off the morning with a Mickey Mouse pancake(although mine pales in comparison to Dean's!) Then we threw them in the tub for a birthday bubble bath...

Is he getting to big for naked tub pictures!?! Too bad. By the way it was Landon's first bubble bath and he was not so sure about the bubbles!

I made him this robot shirt to go with his robot themed birthday. He was super excited to wear it!

We took advantage of Landon's nap time and got in some Candyland...

...and Cooties!

Tanner with his birthday door. His may be a tad bigger than mine! Ha! I had HUNDREDS of pictures to choose from. It was tough narrowing it down and he's only 3! Can't imagine what it's going to be like at 16!

We had Grandma and PapPap, Mom and Dad, and Janna over for presents and cake. Tanner got TONS of nice stuff. Thanks everyone!

Opening his present from Grandma and Grandpa Nelson.

Here's the robot cake and I made robot cake pops too. I thought Tanner would like them more than he did. Oh well, you win some you lose some right!? I, however, think they taste DELICIOUS!

Tanner with his cake.

Blowing out the candles! We've come a long way since his first birthday!

Everybody enjoying some cake and ice cream. For the record neither of my boys would eat much. Isn't that crazy!?! I think I ate enough for all three of us though so it's all good!

Tanner got lots of phone calls from his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. He's one loved little boy!

He even got to open his present from Grandma and Grandpa Hilton via Skype. We {heart} technology! It's was so nice to share his day with them even if we're a million miles apart!

And last but not least, Dad, Landon and the birthday boy in front of his birthday door. He's sporting his new doggy blanket.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANNER! WE SURE LOVE YOU DUDE!

Our Asthmatic

Over Christmas break Landon was a bit sick so we ended up taking him to a pediatrician in Utah. They ended up giving him a breathing treatment in the office that really seemed to help and they diagnosed him with asthma. We are now the proud owners of a nebulizer and we usually give him at least one treatment a day. He HATES it, so we try to do it when he's asleep. It makes it a more pleasant experience for both of us! We can definitely tell a difference when he misses a treatment so we're grateful to have found out what the problem was. We're still hoping he'll eventually grow out of it, but for now we're happy to have some solutions. Here's our little asthmatic getting a breathing treatment...

Happy Birthday to ME!

Well, it's official...I'm a whopping 26 years old! I was nervous living in "Steeler Country" and sharing my birthday with the Super Bowl that I'd be completely overlooked, but people remembered me anyway! ;) I had a great birthday, especially compared to last year. Saturday, Dean fixed me pork ribs and rice, with a yummy salad and bread and then finished it off with chocolate, oreo cheesecake! It doesn't get much better than that! Then Mom and Dad watched the boys so Dean and I could go out. We hit a few stores but mainly we went to IKEA to spend the giftcard he and the boys got me for my birthday. Thanks guys! Then Sunday we of course went to church. I spent the day in nursery without Tanner because he's coming down with a cold(just in time for his birthday! Great!). So Dean had both boys all day at Church. Thank heavens for his parents for their help entertaining them! Then we went to Mom and Dad's for Sunday dinner and they let me pick the menu. We had Steak Salad and apple dumplings for dessert! It was SOOO good! Thanks Mom and Dad! I spent yesterday evening talking to TONS of family and friends who wanted to wish me a happy birthday. I feel so loved and blessed to have so many people who care about me! Now we're gearing up for Tanner's big day!

My delicious cheesecake...there may be a piece missing because I had it for breakfast, but only because Dean was worried it didn't turn out so I was kind enough to test it for him! ;)

We had Mom and Dad...

Janna, PapPap and Grandma all over for dinner on Saturday.

Dean even made me a "Birthday Door"!

Me and the boys with my birthday door on my actual birthday. (A little side note about my dress...Saturday night it was a size 10(which I am NOT). So I did a little sewing and it turned out super cute! I was a just a bit proud of myself since I'm not a great sewer and actually have no experience sewing clothes.)

Opening my package from my parents. I got a laminator! Yay! I'm sure I'll be putting that to good use here soon.

Me and Dean...Thanks for making my birthday special babe! You're the best!
