Four Little Monkeys

Here's my four little monkeys in the same outfit, same chair, and all at about 4 months old.  They look so different from each other, but I sure love every one of those cute faces.

We have a Cub Scout

Now that Tanner's eight he is officially part of our Ward's Cub Scout Troop.  His first week of scouts they had a week night activity and then the Blue and Gold Banquet for the whole family on Friday.  Tanner was thrilled when he found out the whole night was based on a Minecraft theme.  We were supposed to bring a side dish and dessert and since we had just done his Minecraft birthday we had everything we'd need to whip up another Minecraft cake.  The boys all got to particiapate in a bunch of games and activities.  We had themed food, and then finished the night off with a bunch of scout skits and songs.  Tanner quickly fit right in and pulled off all the songs and skits and even came home and performed them with his brothers for Grandma and Grandpa Hilton.

Snow Day Sledding

A week ago we got early morning notifications that school was being canceled for the day.  It had been raining the night before but froze overnight and the roads were supposedly awful.  By the afternoon it was actually pretty warm and there was still enough snow for sledding and fun.  Dean searched all over the internet for a fun place to sled.  It's hard to find anywhere around here that's not covered in trees.  We loaded up the three older boys and left Bridger home with Grandma and Grandpa Hilton.  We drove out to Raccoon State Park which is only a few minutes from us and we actually went sledding down the backside of the dam.  There wasn't another soul in sight and we had so much fun.  There's something about snow that seems to slow down time and creates a little bit of heaven here on earth.  We built a snowman, had a snowball fight, and slid down the hill as many times as our little legs could handle climbing back up.  It was a perfect afternoon as a family.  And once we got home Tanner even played in the yard for another hour and a half.  He's my snow boy for sure.

I wouldn't suggest picking a fight with this guy.

Destroying snowmen is much more fun than building them.  They kept shouting "we're the kings of the world!"

Tanner's snow creature.  I'm going with Koala.

Finally put the snowman kit from Uncle Eric and Aunt Morgan to good use.  Too cute!

Grandma Hilton's Birthday

Now that my Dad is retired, my parent's are a lot more flexible and they've been able to stay out here visiting longer than ever before.  It just so happens that my Mom's birthday is close to Tanner and I's so we got to celebrate hers while they've been out here as well.  Yay for February birthdays!  We surprised her with a birthday door, cards, and gifts from us and Kevin and Helen who had mailed theirs out.  We topped the night off with an ice cream cake from Brusters, and boy was it yummy.  She and I were even able to sneak away for lunch and some shopping at Ross.  We definitely don't get to do that often enough.  We sure are lucky to have this beautiful lady in our lives.  We couldn't ask for a better Mom and Grandma.  Happy Birthday Mom!  We love you!

Eight Is Great

In honor of Tanner's baptism we did a little photo shoot in his new suit.  He also got a new set of scriptures that he has just loved so far.  We just love this sweet boy and his desire to do right.  He's learning so much and I love watching his little testimony blossom and grow.  Congrats Tanner!  We love you!

Presents, Presents and more Presents

Like I said before, Tanner's birthday just kept going, and going, and going.  While his cousins were still in town, he and Hyrum had one last celebration on Sunday where they opened a bunch more gifts and were spoiled silly by so many family members.  Great-Grandma Furin even got them a delicious chocolate cake to share with everyone after Sunday dinner.  I don't think they'll forget their 8th birthdays any time soon.

Leah's one of Bridger's favorites.  He was perfectly happy in her arms.

 Presents from Aunt Janna.

Birthday ear tugs from Great-Grandma.  It was a first for Hyrum.

Amy was dying to hold Bridger so we fed and changed him hoping for a happy demeanor.  Unfortunately that's not what happened.  She took it in stride and loved holding him anyway.  Too cute!
These cute cousins are just too much.  Love it!
