It's that time of year again. Halloween always brings my favorite activity of the year. If you've been following my blog for very long you've seen this activity in years past, but our ward always goes to a senior center and sets up cardboard "houses" to make a little "town" for the elderly people to come trick-or-treating to. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the elderly, but I also love that this is a service project that my kids can participate in. It melts my heart as I watch them bring joy into these people's lives, and I hope they also see how good that feels. So here's the big debut of this year's costumes . . .
Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs, and the Big Bad Wolf
So we of course had to make a house of bricks, sticks, and straw.
Tanner and Janna with the Juke Box
We had an appearance from Linus and Snoopy
The Activity Day girls made a car wash that the patients would actually ride through in their wheelchairs. Complete with working bubbles and water sprayer.
The Young Men made Lavell Edwards Stadium
Beehives made the Emerald City
The Laurels made the "Good Ship Lollipop"
Goettmans made the original Little Caesars
The Cub Scouts brought their tent and dutch oven full of goodies.
The Mia Maids were the movie theater complete with tickets and treats.
The Big Bad Wolf helping to push patients through
Landon was so sweet and wished them all a "Happy Halloween" with a big smile.
Tanner's best buddy Brook was a Ballerina in a jewelry box.
And the Yovich's made a motorized ice cream truck complete with cupcake ice cream cones to hand out.

Way to go, Rachel! Darling costumes, guys. What a great tradition.
Love always,

What a wonderful tradition of service. It makes me tired looking at all the hard work though! :)
Loved your costumes this year! You guys always are very creative. Someday we are going to come out for Halloween to help with the senior citizens!
